Lighting oven issues continue

Do we really need to stick our head in the oven with a match or flame stick to fire up oven. this is our 5th RV and its a 2014 Montana and there has to be a saver and better way to light an oven. My wife cant imagine doing this drill in here later years. Any thoughts

They so make a sparking unit that you can put in the oven to ignite the burner and pilot light. I have one and I got it from one of the MOC members that put on a demonstration and installation of such a unit. I'm not near the Montana at the present time but will be out getting the unit ready to leave for the Fall Rally in a couple of days. I'll try and get some info on it when I get out there OR maybe someone else will be along and let you know what and who might have the info you need! I still have not put my unit in because I changed rigs and luckily did not install it on the old unit before trading it in. I hope to install it either at the Fall Rally or after it so we have it for the Snowbird excursion!

They are available with self lighting feature, but most manufacturers go with installing the cheaper model.

Once we learned how to operate our Convection/Microwave Oven we never used the Gas oven again. And our last two Rigs were ordered without a gas oven, with storage drawers in it's place.
