Seems to me, (JMHO) that with the previous exhibited intelligence of fellow MOC'ers this would be a "Non-Problem"....if you get a 9" version of this latch, which is apparently easier to obtain, you also have a 5 1/2" version. Drill out the rivet on the red handle, cut the bar in the appropriate place, then redrill the bar and rerivet the red handle in place. End of problem.

Our latch just failed as well. The window has never been opened until the failure on our 2014 3402. We are planning on getting a 9" but if anyone knows of a dealer who has the shorter one please let me know.

What have folks done to secure the window while waiting for the replacement. Duct tape works, but thinking about wire thru the holes on the window brought thru the opening in the frame and wrapped around the interior bracket.

I am having a broken crank mechanism issue on one of our windows. I have made a temporary fix that keeps it shut tight but, renders it useless. I am fearing the same outcome. I keep talking to retail relations reps but, nothing is happening. No further ahead on resolving this issue than I was 3 months ago when it flew apart!!
Go figure.

When my rear one broke we were on the road so I wasn't going to take a chance on it coming open. I drill two small holes and used plastic wire ties to secure it. That kept it closed tight for almost a year and many many miles.

Its too bad we have to jerry-rig these things together so they don't fall apart and the it takes an act of congress to get Keystone to do anything about it. They realize when they put a cheap product in that it won't last, but the bottom line is BIG profits and they really don't care about the customers. Its sad that it always has to be about big profits and poor customer service.

This my second one. The cheap aluminum bracket only lasts a year. All you have to do is ride on some rough road surfaces and it breaks. I am not ordering another I'll just rig it so it stays shut and be done with it.
