think I can, think I can...14% grade

On our trip to Fields Oregon we came to a hill at French Glen and it was a struggle to get up the hill. A 15 mpg corner at the bottom did not allow you to get a "run" at it. The fellow with us said it was probably a 7% grade. I was thinking about it on our return trip and as we came past the sign and began the decent the big old sign read 14%, use caution. No wonder the V10 was saying I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, then I thought I could, thought I could. Beautiful country and worth the trip.

Nawwwwww just made it stand up and take notice. Later out out on Alvord Dessert (like the salt flats) we decided to open it up and see what it would do...at 85mph it just shut down, I looked down to see what was wrong and it was then I noticed I had left it in second gear! So now I know it will do 84 in second.
