Tried one once, some years ago. It was like putting a bra on the front of a car. Wear/rubbing on the camper was more than I could take. Like being in a campground with branches rubbing against the camper when the wind blows.
I actually never had any damage from a cover but feel if I left it on all winter, I would have.
Now I just go to the Florida Keys for the winter.

I bought one from Camping World. Used it for about 2 weeks. The cover has been in my storage shed ever since.

We have had discussions on this before. They are a pain in the backside to put on, and some have reported the cover rubbing causing scratching to surfaces. I'm not sure the gain outweighs the expense.
In my part of the country people who cover for the winter also have to worry about ice collecting under there also.
What I am trying to say is I have had my unit going on 5 years now and have not seen any need to cover it during storage.

We bought ours when I deployed last year. It ended up with holes in it where the downspouts are, and ripping into a hundred pieces when we tried to remove it from the roof as snow and ice had built up and it glued it to the roof. Thank goodness it didn't cause any damage. Biggest waste of money so far. I should have saved that money and put it towards a front decal or tires.

We bought one at the same time we bought the rig. It went back a week later, never came out of the box!

Bought ours with the RV, it makes a nice storage platform for things in the garage. Will sell cheap, never used and stored in its bag.

I bought one to fit my 2955 when I bought the camper many years ago. It is still in the original box in my shop. Do you want to buy it?? I'll make you a terrific deal. I rent my barbers machine shed for $50 a month with full time electric hookup.....JB

We have a cover and use it all the time. I actually love it and think it works great. Keeps the leaves and environment off the trailer when not in use. Its a big beast to get on and off but i have it down now. Actually surprised at how many responded saying they had no need or didn't like it etc.

Other than they are expensive, hard to get to the top of the RV, hard to put on, may rub a spot on the Montana (or a hole in the cover), keep it too hot in the summer, take up lots of storage room...they are fine.
