Just a heads up, for what it is worth kinda thing,
Al went up on the roof and took the Max Aire covers off the vents, after almost 5 years, he said they were just toooooooooooo dirty.
Well, we were a bit surprised to find the OEM vent covers rotten and flaking away. BUT, only on ONE side of the rig/vent covers. The side that sat in the sun at the stick built in Michigan.
It is his opinion that it is not the UV rays, but rather the heat that rotted it out.
We are gonna have to replace all the vent covers. But, for now, the Max Aire covers are protecting us from any water leaking in.

We have the maxx air vent covers on the non FF vents...There is model that fits over the FF. However we are told it would interfere with the auto close in case of rain function????. The purpose of the vent covers was to keep rain out of the camper with the vent open. The FF with auto close made the vent covers obsolete ??? or did I miss sometghing..???

Rich, it won't close in the rain because the rain doesn't get past the vent cover. So you can continue to use the FF in the rain without fear of water gushing into the rig. Exactly the reason we went with the cover.

They make one for the FF and its great. The rain sensor can drive you nuts when you're parked under a tree and after a rain. When the wind blows, drops fall from tree and the sensor makes the hood go up and down, up and down, up and down, etc. With the Max Air cover you can use the FF even in the rain.

I'd like to add that the cover does reduce the airflow of the FF as was noted in another post. You just have to decide whether the tradeoff is worthwhile or not.

Two things.. We never run the FF at a high speed because of the noise and we now see the advantage of having the FF run while it is raining particularly here in Florida where the humidity is very high..even during the winter months. I would hope that the reduced airflow does not contribute to the motor overheating and we run it a lot.. Guess I will call the FF folks and have a chat with them because I can see the positives in having the FF cover. The more you learn..the more there is to learn...

I have read someplace but can't find it now. The FF when covered air flow is reduced by 60 percent, however FF replied they don't void the warranty. I could be wrong but I agree calling FF would be the best. GBY...
