Electrical Battery/Lights Question

Newbie question.

In my new to me Montana HC 323RL, should my interior lights work off the battery when I'm not plugged in. The battery is brand new and fully charged. Do I have to be hooked up to electrical for any lights inside the RV to work?So far I only have one battery, although we plan on adding more batteries and solar in the future.

Thanks

Check your battery disconnect switch in the convenience center. If it's on you can't take the key out.

Sorry to be so clueless about this, but what is the "convenience center". I know where the wall switches are for the slides/lights/etc and where the fuse box is in the kitchen. I don't see any other control box.

It’s fun to learn. Unfortunately- some of the stuff done to units does now follow logic. In addition- when that master switch is off - there are items still pulling dc juice and will kill the battery. I put a big switch between negative cable and where it contacted frame. That shuts it ALL off.
