Don't think I will let Karen see the shelf,. Looks like I may have a project for the summer. Carol, what size screws did they guys use to secure the shelf to the wall.

It's great to be in a place that has a workshop. That could be both a blessing and a curse as RV'ers as a rule are handy types.
I know I'd be over there fabricating something up.

Nice work! It makes your place very homey.

Boy,you worked AL and JOHN to hard. Thats why when we seen you they were so tired. Looks great. I like the awning idea. Get them made at DON-WEST? I know ours will need replaced one of these days so will be talking with you on that. If we don't see you anymore this spring, have a great summer and we will keep in touch. See you next winter. Great job you guys!! It all looks great and we are very impressed. Carol, Al say if you put a long strip of Velco on that shelf, you can remove items for easier cleaning and also be able to interchange things. My thought on this, at Christmas time you could put up your Christmas decorations. Looks nice just the way it is.

Gary,
I used Deck Mate 7 X 1 5/8 Premium all purpose exterior screws. They are phillips square drive that won't slip. I used them to connect the 1x6 oak boards together. Also used them to secure the shelf to the wall above the slide. I made sure that I screwed them to the alumunim support members in the wall. I used an electronic stud finder to locate the framework.

Thanks all for nice comments.

We would like to be sure we give another thanks to John and to the wood shop here at BPV, Adrian and Skip are GREAT!! Yes, our very own Skip/Countryfolks is the head of the shop.

Yes, Mickey, Don-West for the slide topper.

Like I said, I had envisioned the long shelf as a photo gallery, and a few German Teddy bears, but, do like the seasonal look. I am sure this will evolve same as living in a rig does.
