Replacing Fire Extinguisher

Had to use the fire extinguisher while camping over Memorial Day weekend. The one that came with the rig is a First Alert Model KFE2S5. Internet search of First Alert's website did not list it. Anyone had to replace theirs, and if so, what did you buy? I wouldn't mind "upgrading", just want it to fit on the hanger in the rig. TIA.

All fire extinguishers I have purchased over the years came with a mounting bracket- I didn't have to use the brackets but they were all of similar size as to mounting surface- JHMO- Don

I bought one at Walmart. I had to use the new bracket but it was easy.

If you are near a Menards, Home Depot or Lowes check at them. They all carry fire extinguishers and usually have a multiple selection. Maybe Exnavydiver will come along and let you know what to get. He's put on fire extinguisher demos at the Fall Rally these past few years and knows his stuff. As was mentioned in prior posts, all extinguishers come with a new bracket for hanging it and you don't need to reuse the old one! They are easy to switch out!

For RV extinguishers I would go with a compressed air and foam "P" can style, 2.5 to 3 gallon. one for where Keystone puts that cheap unit by the door and one by the bed under the bedside shelf. I have one in each spot. Check out Macthefireguy.com. he has many good units and does fire safety lectures at FMCA, Escapees and our fall rallies. If you have ever tried to use a dry chem extinguisher you know what a god awful mess it makes. Go with the foam...
