Two Coax cable run from Weingard Antenna to Directv Box

Hi all, I enjoyed reading a lot of posts before deciding nothing would help me with my question. I have a Weingard Self Seeking antenna with two coax outputs to my Directv Box. I have called Keystone twice and both times the tech offered to email me help but nothing ever showed up. I'm thinking I'll need to run a new feed myself as well as a 12v supply for the antenna. Anyone?

reetzer,

Welcome to the forum!

I use Dish vice Direct but do recommend running dedicated coax to your receiver.

What kind of Winegard do you have? No matter what you have, one outlet should be marked main and the other is to a second receiver. I use G2+'s and they provide the power to the antenna with a power box. If it's a tailgator type, they draw the power from the receiver thru the cable. Those type have to have a direct connection to the receiver and everyone (Providers and Winegard) say the cable can't be longer than 25'. That's not really true, but it's not far off. With the G2+ my longest run is 50' to the convenience center and then back to the rear of the rig thru the OEM wiring less the splitter they instaled behind the center.

Reetzer, in your convenience center you should have 3 coax connections, one labeled "coach cable" , the next one should be "living room satellite" and the last one should be "bedroom" satellite. If you are going to run 2 coax from your dish you will need a separate receiver for each tv.

I also installed a 12 volt cigarette lighter outlet in the convenience center to power my dish.
I hope this helps!
