Trouble downsizing pic in profile

I have tried to replace a photo of our dog, Sunshine, in our profile and seem to have too big a photo. I think that I have followed the instructions about going through tinypic.com but it still is too big. Could someone please help me? Thanks - Jim

Jim, I recommend you go to www.irfanview.com and download the free version of irfanview. In irfanview you can reduce the pixel size very easily. Then, when you save it, reduce the filesize by reducing the quality. I recommend using 75% quality. On a computer you won't be able to tell the quality change.

We use irfanview for all the pictures Vicki uses for her postcards and for our website. For those I use 50% quality to keep the size way down so she can use more pictures. Irfanview has a batch option in which I can reduce the size and quality of around 200 pictures in a minute or so.

If you have questions on its use, email me.
