Mor/ryde installed @rally

I had a Mor/ryde pin box installed at the fall rally last month as did several other. The trip home was not nearly as smooth as we expected it would be with the new Mor/ryde. As a result of others posting problems with the incorrect springs, I removed mine yesterday and it had the #5 spring. Anybody that had a Mor/ryde installed at the rally should check to see which spring was installed in their pin box

What spring should it be? I am ordering my factory installed on the New Big Sky. I am thinking I might be better off not having that and getting a 5th Airborne installed.
Does the 5th Airborne fit properly on the Box of the Big Sky? Does it need any thing extra to fit properly?
Also Is trail air any better? I want to get it right at the beginning?

Thanks

Don,
Sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the new pin box. I also had the Mor/Ryde Pln Box installed, but had just the opposite experience. We navigated our way down to Florida after leaving the Rally, and were pleasantly surprised with the improved handling. We did not have severe chucking problems before the installation, but I thought we could do better after talking with several MOCers who made the change and could compare the differences. We were told that not all of the chucking and noticeable TV impact would be eliminated, but I would guesstimate that 70-80% was eliminated. So... I am a happy camper with the new pin box. I have not yet checked out the spring size.

Mike Bulter at Mor/ryde said that if our 3075 Montana was loaded to it's maximum weight capacity of 14,200 lb. the #5 spring would work. We are not near the capacity so the #4 spring will provide a much better ride.

RMccord, The Big Sky's weight more than our 3075, so the 19K hitch which has a #5 spring would be fine for you. There are several members that have changed springs and are very happy with the Mor/ryde set up and I am sure I also will be. I haven't had any experience with the 5th Airborne, so can't help you there.

Yep, #4 is correct for the Montana, (14K) #5 for the Big Sky (18K).
