Finally someone listened!

A good Ford diesel mechanic in Lock Haven, PA listened and finally the truck is running like it did when new. Before putting it on the computer he drove the truck and it acted exactly what we said it did. He then put it on the computer and the truck wouldn't repeat the problem - apparently, the computer reset the truck but after 100 or so miles it went back to acting up. A new turbo was in order since all other parts around it had been replaced 3 to 4 times, now all is back to normal and mileage seems to be improving - hope it continues.

Safe travels.

Hope that fixes things for you. I hate having to deal with cars and trucks that are having problems.

Steve,

We had a sluggish start taking a while to get out of first, I also could hear a type racing in the turbo. They had previously claimed it was a clutch fan kicking in. We'd had the same thing happen outside Flagstaff our first year. Our gas mileage has been low and seems to have improved so far 2 miles to the gallon. We took the truck in before we started this trip in July as we had lost all power and it was chugging - once again it was reset and had run well but since we had it in for an oil change we wanted it checked as we still didn't feel it was running up to speed and performance. So far so good we will see how it does the rest of the way home - we will be back on the road Thursday.

Safe travels.
