front Cap Spotted
I was in WY about 6 weeks ago, I was stopped and a Monty drove by me, not too unusual but . . . . The front cap was molded above the roof line, kind of link the newer long haul trucks. It looked as though it would push the air stream above the AC's etc. looked to be maybe 12 inches higher than the roof and appeared to be part of the front cap. Could not see any seams etc. looked factory? What do you think, a user mod?

Weird, I could not either. It looked rather cool, don't know if it helped with mileage any. Pretty sure it was the new color so at least a 2014

The rubber roof may have been loose and inflated. My 2001 did that from the from cap to the AC. The hotter it was the higher it would go up.

awaywego might have something. I have seen that problem once. The roof membrane seemed to have gotten loose where the front cap meets the roof membrane and it inflated like a balloon from air pressure as it was towed. Not a pretty sight and I was parked as it zoomed by, so I couldn't let them know. Never saw them again as we continued on our trip. Tough thought since when you stop to setup, the air might release and one might not ever notice the problem unless it leaked when rain came and then it's too late. I know it's not something I check. Fortunately I have been known to get up on the roof just to check things are still solid.
Could that have been a possibility?

Didn't appear to be the roof. I was getting diesel in town and they were traveling at about 25mph. The flow of the was smooth, so instead of curving to the rear it continued rising. I looked to see if it was an add on, but I could not see a seam going aside to side across the front cap. It rose up about a foot above the roof in the center and had about a 2 foot section in the center that remained that high. Then feathered in a smooth arc on both sides. There was a definite void behind the raised cap down to the roof. It looked really cool and professional
My guess is the owner has something to with big rigs and a body shop and did the mod himself. It was really unique and looked cool. I was hoping that they were MOC's

At this point you have surpassed my imagination. I need a picture or drawing to figure out what you are describing but it does sound like a custom job. I hope it works if you're guessing it's to make the roof more aerodynamic.

I had thought about this in the design of the front cap. Bringing the front cap up about 12 inches above the roof line should smooth the airflow over the camper, and reduce wear and bugs on the air units.
