Electrical system pondering update
Many MOCers who have been here a while will remember the various discussions and posting that were done when I was in the process of doing the installation of the Autoformer and the Progressive Industries EMS in the 3400RL. This system has proven it's worth in the past, therefore there was no time to even second guess whether it would be transferred to the new rig. There are some differences that I have discovered with regards to the planned installation in the 3750FL. the primary difference is that on the 3400RL, the generator prep IOTA smartswitch was located in the battery compartment. This allowed for a centralized location for all the upgrades which were photo-documented and can be seen in the archives of the forum. I have learned that the 3750FL is equipped with a Progressive Dynamics transfer switch (remember this is a unit with a built in generator and therefore has the generator prep option). The transfer switch is located behind a basement panel that contains the electrical outlet and the cable hookups for the basement television. The breaker and fuse panel is located beneath the desk on the other side of the steps that ascend to the living room. Of note is that there is nothing other than a couple of wires beneath the steps that lead to the living room. What this means is that I believe I will be able to install the Autoformer and the EMS unit beneath the interior steps. This will allow the remote readout for the EMS to be wired into the closet area. This area is shown on another post as one of the dealer mods where the satellite system was installed. The closet area has a shelf on top where the satellite controls are located and I believe the EMS remote readout can be installed adjacent to the thermostat. I will keep this thread updated and will supply photos as the project continues. It well may take a month or so for those who are interested in following the project.
