Fly Old Glory....

Sue's (Parrothead) post under the Western Region titled "Hurray for the Red, White & Blue" gave me an idea.
Being the rally starts the same week as Memorial Day, how about all the NE rally attendees display our beloved USA flag in some fashion within their site. Be it on the Monty or a pole by your rig. Small, medium or large flags do not matter, display one flag or many flags. It's your option.
Come on guys and gals, what better way to remember and thank our many, many fallen heros from over the past 230 plus years and what better place to do it than Gettysburg.

Glenn that is a great idea. We always display the American flag and our State flag (PA) when we're camped. It would be a really nice sight to see Old Glory flying high in Gettysburg campground on the week of Memorial Day. And always I might add. Thanks

I think that is a great idea I’m in for it!

We like to fly the American flag and our state flag. I have two flag poles that we use. We use the tri pod to hold the stands in place.

I think it would be neat to have flags as a theme for the rally!!

Count me in, now in addition to diesel costs, plus yard sale spending money, I guess I need to run out and buy a new flag and a new flag pole and figure out how to fly it. Wait, DW gave me an idea, we can just have oldest DD hold it for the weekend, then we won't have to worry about what kind of mischief she has found!!!!

If we get there and can't afford to do anything else at least we can all look at the flags and be patriotic!

Here is a link where we bought some collapsing flag poles last year. These are really nice for something like this.

We fly the flag all the time. Old Glory flies off my King pin any time we are using our rig! Great idea Glenn! Check my signature "Red, White and Blue"

We always carry a flag with us and always fly it both on the road and here at home, While we are on the subject. We also belong to the FCRV(Family campers and rv'ers) a international , Canada And USA camping group. We carry both flags with us and when at FCRV functions fly both. We have a large number of Canadian members in MOC and we feel it appropriate to fly the flags of both countries particularly when both countries are represented at a rally...Just a thought..

Here is a cheap, but neat, flag pole....

This flag stands about 40" tall. It sets on a stake allowing it to rotate with the wind.

It is made of PVC.
The above is 1/2" but you can use 3/4" as well for a bigger, taller flag

You will need---
A 5' piece of 1/2" PVC, 2 end caps, a Tee and a 45° elbow and of course a flag.

Cut the 5' piece into 2- 2' and 2- 6" pieces

Assemble as pictured.

Use a 10' piece of 3/4" to make a taller version which can fly a 3' X 5' flag

Cut the 10' into 2- 4' and 2- 1' pieces.
Use 2- 3/4" caps, a Tee and a 45° elbow

NO CEMENT IS USED on any fitting.

I can and will help anyone to make these up at the rally.
Just bring the materials and it's done.
I do have a few large and small flags with me.

jjackflash, We have the ladder type mount and pole. It has flown on two different 5th wheels so for and is flying today. As you said a little pricey but well worth the money. Can be put up and taken down in a instant. GBY...

Glenn,
Saw one of the PVC flag "poles" in a Tallahassee CG. Plan to get the PVC and make one. We'll have it in Gettysburg!!!
