Storage Pods
We have a new 2955RL. I have a storage pod left over from my last 5th wheel that never got mounted.
The Montana documentation says that most of the Montana line is at a height of 12' 9". My storage pod is approx 13" deep.
Question: My concern is "height". Adding another 13" to the height is of great concern. Has anyone else mounted a storage pod to their 2955RL AND where on the roof did you put it (front, middle etc)?
Thanks and happing camping!

Hey,Hays,
I'm thinking your A/C unit must be pretty close to 13 inches, so the height of the pod shouldn't be a problem.
Keep the Shiny side up and rubber side down. Love those Wings. Had 3 of them.
Happy Camping

Just to clarify my original post. My pod won't fit in the area of the air conditioner, just too large a foot print. So, no matter what other area I choose will put me over the 12' 9".
Just wondering how much over others have gone, and where on the roof they chose.
Thanks!

As you probably know, the AC is the highest point and is the 12' 9" point. Many of the Montanas prior to the '05 models were 12' 11" (late '03 and most of the '04) (our early '03 is 12' 8"). So there's a couple of inches to play with without being taller than the earlier Montanas. Since the Montanas slope to the rear and the AC is on the slope, I would think you could mount the pod on the roof somewhere behind the AC, as close to the rear cap as you can, and probably still be no higher than the AC or at least no more than the 12' 11" of the earlier models.

Have we discussed this before? Can't remember but I do have one question. What does this pod installation do to the warranty on the Montana roof? Anyone have any experience or insight here? Would like to hear from you if you do. Thanks!
