Don,
I went the easy route and had a new ladder installed in Goshen, IN in August 2006. Ours had broken bolts in a couple places and I just didn't want to fool with it.

We check the ladder attachments for anything loose on a regular routine basis. We do not hang bikes or anything else on the ladder while traveling. We have not had a problem with the 06 3400. From what we have seen on the factory tours the ladder is attached to 2X4's on the inside of the cap.

I think the first thing you should look at is the screws that go through the ladder and into the stand off bars. These loosen up occasionally and need to be re-tightened. Either use a large Phillips screw driver or a #2 square head driver. This should take out most of the slack. If there is still some slack the other operation is to remove the mount plates attached to the rig and tightened the screws on the other end of the stand off bars. Last option is ladder replacement. I ended up replacing all my screws with 1/4x20 hex head bolts... Dave

The ladder plastic inserts on my 2955 were breaking and I asked Keystone where to get some replacements and they gave me the manufacture's name. I asked the manuf and they sent me 12 new ones free. Great service. I'll try to find the package tomarrow and send you the name and address.

Snowbirds, I would appreciate the manufacturer info as well. My ladder broke inside the bottom step on both sides and I need to get up with them as well. Thanks, Tim
