dark tank disposal pump
At the RV show in "Q"-site, there was an electrict moter disposal for the dark tank and it had a flexable 1'1/2" hose for the discharge end to the sewer. does anybody out there have the e-mail address or the manufactures name they can throw my way please. I forgot to get the flier from that vendor.
Thanks TT2

Thanks,
I seen that one it uses a garden hose which is the same principal, but the one I seen used a 1 & 1/2 " hose simular to a plastic vacume hose with a hosebib fitting on one end probably a little bigger, and a sewer conecter on the other end, the emulsafirer had the banett conector to hook to the discharge end of the trailer dump opening. and looking into the bussiness end of the chopper it looked like a mini garbage disposal.
Thanks for your reply.

Don,
Try this link, http://www.emptythetanks.com/order_online.htm
Or, for more info than you ever wanted to know on the subject try a google search for Macerator.
HTH,
Ken

Thank you.

Dave,
A couple years ago I purchased a macerator from Campers Choice and made my own. I've pumped it over 100 feet through a 5/8" hose with no problems. You can purchase a macerator (all set up) from Camping World but it was a little more money. For the serious RVer, i.e. fulltimers, a macerator is a great thing to have. We've parked in friends back yards and pumped the black water into their toilet.
Works for me!

While at Quartzsite we met Ed and Shirley Fisher. They're a couple from Montana (the state)and they had a great setup. He uses a big blue disposal tank in the back of his truck and has the macerator pump. When his tanks get full they just connect the macerator to the sewer outlet and turn it on and pump into the blue tank. Then when they go into town they dump.
He also had a very nice 50 gallon barrel fresh water tank on his pickup. He can either gravity feed into his Montana water tank or he has a 12 volt pump attached if he needs to force it. He was nice enough to bring a full water barrel out to the little Montana get together. Several of us topped off our tanks.
He's got a nice system. He also has a couple of solar panels plus a generator. They are snowbirds and spend serious time on the desert. About 3 or 4 months. Don't remember what battery setup he had but perhaps he'll get on and share with us.
The macerator system is a nice way to go if you do much boondocking at all.
Good luck.

Camping World carries both models; the Macerator and the system you saw at Q. The Macerator is more expensive. I have the Macerator and like it. I can't give you any info on the other system.

Thanks to all! I now have so much INFO to research. I like the Idea of pumping it as far as you did ols1932. I think that from my street to the sewer clean out us 40 feet and a 24" rise that sounds like the blender I want.

We use the "sewer solution". It is the same principle but uses a water jet instead of a pump. We have had it two years and it works well for us. It is slow and you wouldn't want to use it at a busy dump station. WE were at a park just South of Portland, OR. las summer and they wouldn't let you use the motorized type. Said it plugged there system. Don't see how that would happen.

Treecounter, sounds like there's more to the story than meets the eye. Don't understand the rationale, either.

Here is a link to the "home made" sewer pump I use at home and when Campground Hosting.
http://www.geocities.com/fulltimedre...sewr_pump.html
The Mountaineer does not come with a tank flush, so using this system I can back fill any of the tanks to clean them. It uses a sump pump 1.5" hose instead of the 3" sewer hose. This works very well for my appplication.
I may get a macerator at some point because I could then put a tank in the back of the truck to use in campgrounds where you don't have a sewer connection or for boondocking.

How fast does this empty a black tank, Lamar? And how far will this push?

Dave,
When we were Campground Hosting last summer I used it to reach the sewer connection that was on the wrong side and away from the coach. I used my normal 25' sump hose and aditional 15' for a total of 40'. This was not uphill, but a very gentle slope. The venturi pump action is pretty stong though. When you empty a tank with it you can hear the suction.
As to the time to empty - 3 or 4 minutes for each tank. If you back fill the black tank it can take 10 minutes or so depending on the water pressure.
