Valve Replacement

I had to replace one of my gray water valves as it seized up and wouldn’t work. Had to cut the belly to find the valve and need to seal it back up. I bought some Gorilla tape, however it is not holding. What have others used to seal the Coroplast belly back up that has held?

Thank you!

I assume you have the old style coroplast (there is a rumor that new Montanas are using a new fuzzy surfaced material). Hundreds of us here have thoroughly cleaned the coroplast and then used black Gorrila Tape to seal up the windows or seams. Mine have been in place for about 4 years and are still tight. Another Montana I worked on found the tape still intact after 8 years.

There are reports here of using Scrim Tape but I am not familiar with that stuff.

Maybe gorilla roof tape?
The adhesive surface looks a lot like Eternabond tape.
I've always had good results with gorilla tape. I always clean the surface then wipe it with alcohol before taping it.

Thanks for the tip, I'll admit that I did a poor job of cleaning as I was ready to get from underneath the rig after the valve replacement. I'll try the alcohol and see how that works. Thanks!

I have sutured my cuts with nylon wire ties. Cut a small slot on each side of the cut. Thread a wire tie through each side gently pulling the cut closed. Continue around the whole opening. I suggest loosely fastening the ties until the whole open is sutured. Then go around the perimeter and tighten them all up. Keeping them loose until you are done will give you plenty of room to work on the top ans will as the bottom
