do you have a short box and if so , can you do a 90 degree turn with the hitch?

I have been using the aluminum Anderson hitch for a year now. It only ways 38 pounds and works great. I use it with the B & W ball.

Im still looking to see if any one has been able to do a 90 degree turn with either of the hitches on a standard box pickup ( 6')

I don't know if I've turned a true 90 degrees but have turned sharp and not had a problem. I still watch it close but I think you will be fine. My pickup up is a 2014 Ford F-350 crew cab with the short box.

I have a 2015 ram srw, sb. 6foot 4 inches ... I have hit the cab with the Andersen...too bad...loved that hitch...

This hitch sits in the same place as any other hitch. It has to to place the pin weight where it needs to be placed. So yes I would guess if a standard hitch would have a problem on a 90 degree turn then the Anderson would.

have made a 90' turn with my 532rl High country, and my 2015 F-250 crew cab short bed, and pull rite with the ball mounted to the front. It did not touch my cab.
Only issue is keeping the ball clean and smooth, and well lubed.

I would like to see that post, know where it is? Problems with the hitch from what I have read are from user inability to follow the manufactures instructions.

I have the pullrite slider and am pretty sure I have turned 90 degrees several times when I got in someplace where I shouldn't have!!! I kind of push the limit on things like this and going on steep and winding roads.
OOPS! Just noticed this is about 'light' hitches. Not mine.

I looked around on the net and did see a few photos of damaged pin boxes, but agreed not many. I still don't like the idea of all that weight on what looks like spindly legs. As for the ball, yes it can handle the weight as pull trailers do all the time. I just don't like the small area the hitch attaches to the pin box. Maybe I am old fashioned but I like the standard hitch that provides a whole more support to the pin box.
If it is good enough for the millions of commercial trucks out there then it is good enough for me.

When I considered an Anderson a few years ago Lippert stated the only non-traditional hitches that would not void the frame warranty were made by Reese ~~ still searching but may have tossed that response long ago.

When pulling 16K to 20K Rigs, it just bothers me to talk about using the lightest hitch you can.

Not suppose to lube the ball.... lube attracts dirt, dirt and grease make an excellent cutting compound...

As if 100 lb more hitch will make a difference.. airplane are light. Spruce goose is made of balsa wood and it was to carry tanks!.
