Navy Flight Student Looking For Pensacola Pads

I am new to the RV community and very excited to meet all of the wonderful people out there. My wife and I purchased a montana 3400rl 2005 model for our home while I am in flight training. I would like to know if there are any deals, discounts, or secrets out there for a full hookup area. We will be in Florida starting June 1 and are actively seeking a place to call home...thanks for all of your input.

Welcome to the MOC. I would have to say you have picked a very nice floor plan. Not in FL. but I am sure someone will be along soon to give some advice. Enjoy the coach.

Welcome to the MOC.

You didn't say how long you will be staying in Pensacloa but your best deal on a site is booking an extended stay in one spot. Most all campgrounds discount their rates on length of stay. The longer you stay the cheaper it gets. Your best rates are typically for 6 months or a year.
To start out, I would suggest, taking a site for a couple weeks. Pick a campground and use that as a home base while you check out all the other campgrounds in the area. Nothing worse than booking an extended stay at an unknown campground only to find you don't like it. Once you have committed some cg's have a tough time letting you out of the deal.
Also check with the base where you will be stationed. Some bases have campgrounds just for military personell.

I wonder if Pensacola has RV sites on-base? This may be worth investigating through Pensacola's Special Services (at least that is what it was called when I was in the Marines)Office. If none are available on-base, they may have a listing that provides discounts to active military.

We're going to be staying at the Pensacola NAS campground this weekend but I don't know their policy for longterm parking or if they have sewer hookups. I do know that we have some students at the Air Force base near here who park for 11 months at the base campground while they're in school.

Hurlburt Field has a campground with full hookups for $330 per month. Phone: 850-884-1110. It's on the beach just west of Pensacola. Their number would provide someone who could give you more specific directions. You might want to buy the Military RV, Camping & Outdoor Recreation book, available at the PX or any military campground. Just bought mine and it's great.
