2010 3150 RL Counter Top Extension
We have this unit and are trying to locate an extension for the counter top. The dealer asked me, IS ONE AVAILABLE?? I thought so.
So, my question is, does anyone have the extension on their 2010 3150 RL.
THANKS.......

Well, I guess since 62 folks have looked at the post and no one responded, no one has an extension for their counter top.

I seem to remember some MOCers who made custom counter extensions. Perhaps a search will yield results that will show what they did. I know our 3750FL has a counter extension, but I am sure it is specific to this model since the end of the counter is squared off where the extension abuts to.

I realize your post is regarding 2010 but I do have an extension that came in my 2011. Maybe it would fit in the 2010?????

When we were looking we noticed that all of the 2010's had (3150rl) a curved end on the counter (where the extension would go)and didn't have the extension. When we received our 2011, the end of the counter where the extension is located is straight rather than curved. I think the extension is new starting with the 2011's.

Our 2010 did not have an extension but the 2011s do and it looks like they would fit the 2010 if the colors are the same.
I made one for our 3150RL. I bought a cutting board from WalMart and mounted it to a pair of folding shelf brackets.
I saw the same shelf brackets at out Home Depot for less money. This solution works great for us.

Thanks everyone for your replies.
Doberman,
It seems that 2010 did not offer the extension, but the 2011 does. Yes, our counter top edge is rounded off, not cut square. but yes, I think one for a 2011 would probably work. Do you happen to know how far your extension sticks out?
Bingo,
I do remember seeing a picture of an extension made out of oak, but cant find it again. I think it was in someones MOD's.
Joe & Lucy,
I think thats exactly what I will use.
Thanks again....

rlwhit had a post a couple of years ago regarding an oak extension that he had fabricated and installed. The pics are missing from his thread so you may consider e-mailing or PMing for more information or pictures.

I just put one in my 2955. I used the sink filler insert which was usually left at home. I epoxied a piece of plywood to the underside of the insert, painted it, attached a flip up bracket from the local building store and secured it beside the sink.
I did cut some 3/4" plywood backing blocks that went inside the cabinet and used some tee metal brackets to secure them to the framework. The paneling is to thin to hold the flip up. Then screw the flip up through the paneling into the plywood.
It's solid and looks pretty good.
