Congrats Ozz! My second day of retirement sent us on a 3 month cross Canada trip. The first day I had to sleep after a final 12 hour night shift.

Wow! what a first day!
The morning was packing the Monte, 41 trips to it with..everything we own.. We started putting each thing away where we thought would be a good place to have it, then we just shoveled it inside wherever a clean spot was. It is total Chaos in here. I barely have room at my desk for the laptop, stuff is everywhere. But it is retirement stuff, a good thing.
Plans. They are good. What is it about war plans, they change with the first skirmish? We had planned on stopping at Russell Kansas, around 250 miles, then we read the weather; possible severe storms. I kept driving until storms were not an item. 450 miles and we are in Colorado at a small RV Park, it is so funny, the 'swimming Pool' advertised, is an above-ground 15' wide 20 year-old worn-out (empty) kids pool. With a No Diving sign.. The owners are nice, they have a garden hose ran 50' to our and my neighbor's site for water. The 30 year-old riding mower has a flat tire, I will air it up for them so they can cut the grass..
We will not travel today, off to explore the town of probably 500 people later, after I borrow a rake and re-arrange the stuff inside our new home.

Congratulations on a major milestone in your life. I only have 638 days left (but who's counting) before I reach the same point in my journey and can't wait.
Safe travels.

Best of luck, Ozz. That is a great part of the country. At the end of the month we will be starting our retirement home in Colorado about two valleys north of Estes. We will be moving to the heat and humidity of Texas for a few years before we get to enjoy the good life in Colorado. We have an RV pad going on the side of the garage. Love to hear of people getting to chase their dreams after working hard for a living for a lot of years. Enjoy yourself and keep everyone posted on your travels.

Jim,
Glad you made the cut, now throw the plans out. You saw my schedule, it went out the window on day 3. We are in Douglas Wy tonight and will spend some time figuring out were Custer went wrong at 7th Ranch tomorrow. Keep in touch.

Ozz, I had a good friend that was a fix everything type of guy. After he retired he came to me and said, "you know what I did today, I saw something that needed fixed and walked right past it!" Happy retirement!

Ha! That may be a tough one, but I bet it was tough for your friend as well.
I think we as Rv owners can get our 'fix' just going from one place to another with the miriad of problems that pop up.
We are getting Internet here, but no phone service. Trying to get Direct Tv to turn on the DVR we are paying for and don't have... it's always something.

Glad you remembered the rake!
My favorite line from a movie, ever, is from "Aliens:" "I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."
That's how I feel about my rake. Sometimes a broom in the RV just isn't enough.

Well Ozz I, from 1989-1997 did A/C in Henderson,Nv. hot, hot, hot had to have an assistant to keep my tools cool enough to handle he also carried the bottles, vac, etc. as they say "been there done that" for some reason I really enjoyed that job but it took its toll on me so I moved back to Albuq,nm and reitired. After two Montana's I decided to call it quits also my knees can't take anymore. Love traveling so I did the only thing I could do so we bought a Phaeton 40QTH 09 and we left Sherman,Ms 6/2 made it to Memphis 90 miles what a ride other than driving I have almost (0)knowledge of what I'm doing however this has happened in the past and its turn out well. Going to Tunica today for 3 days to try to get a handle on everything this rv does we met in Branson a while back and hope to meet again on the road thanks for all the advice on my Monty. Enjoy Jack (our E-mail has changed will re-post soon)

Good to hear from you again Jack. That hVAC business will make a guy tough. I'm just lucky my health is good still. It can be quite an adventure on the road. Enjoy that big class A, and still wave at us Keystone folks.

Thanks Pal, it is all good so far...
We are enjoying the cool dry Colorado air. Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri are not sitting outside weather, in the Summertime, it is nice to be able to do that here. We are in Loveland Colorado now. Don't want to leave!

Ozz -
Are you at the Loveland RV resort on 34? If so, you're two blocks from my sister. Will you still be there by July 4th? We're headed out that way.
