I did a search, but couldn't find what I needed.
How do you guys get the pink stuff in the bowels of the washer? (I didn't have one last winter)
You can't reach into that crack between the washer and the wall,so . . . I know I need to pink the innards of that bad boy, I'm guessing that I put the pink jug on the suction side of the pump like I did last year and let it pump some into the machine on the wash cycle then skip to the drain cycle and pump 'er out, or something along that line. I've never tried to figure out whether you can interrupt cycles in this washer and skip to "drain". Guess I will.

You need the drain cycle to pump the pink stuff out of the machine and into the trap in the drain so the trap doesn't freeze. A broken trap there is a difficult repair.

I have to go out and check my Monty. I never thought about the washer drain needing 'pink' since I don't have a washer. Is there any possibility that water can get in that drain anyway? I suppose a shot of antifreeze is real cheap insurance.

illapah - Yes they should have put water in there for the "S" trap to work.

Jdrobone - when I draw the pink stuff in through the winterize line I run the washer fill cycle to put pink in both the hot and cold lines. Then I go to the drain cycle and pump it out. At that point I pour more into the washing machine so there is plenty going into the "S" trap.

It explains the process of getting antifreeze thru both the cold and hot lines. And in doing so, you get antifreeze in the drain as you drain the washer after you see pink stuff going thru.
Keep a watch on your antifreeze jug. It will suck it down pretty fast.

I never thought to put antifreeze down the P trap in our as we don't have a washer and never put water down the trap. Now I'm wondering about the water lines leading to the hot and cold water supply valves for the washer. Should I open these valves and drain them as well? I've never drawn water from them.

I am not too sure that my w/d drain has a trap. I did go pour some antifreeze down it yesterday as insurance. Noted a placard on the wall that said "This drain does not go to a holding tank." And, "If no washer is installed, keep cap screwed onto drain pipe to prevent sewer gas from entering and if washer is not used for long time, replace drain cap"
