Surgery

Well, I'm following in Tom S's knee steps. September 15th (tomorrow) is the knee replacement surgery.

So! Any positive thoughts via the Big Boss in Heaven would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going to try and talk the hospital into allowing my laptop. After all, they would not want me to have withdrawal symptoms.

I'm already having withdrawal symptoms of not being able to get on the road.

Thanks.

Wayne, Best wishes on the replacement!!!!! As you already know, the most important thing is not the surgery itself, but the therapy afterwards. Stick with it do the best you can every session! It's painful, but they make pills that will help with that. Semper Fi!

Wayne I haven't met you but I feel I know you just from MOC. You're to much of a trouble maker to have any problems. Take care and best of luck! Keep us informed!

Wayne, Best of luck tomorrow on you little cut and paste knee job. Went back for my 2 1/2 week check up today and all is good to go. Back to driving, no more walker, using a cane, and life is good. As we have said in the PMs, exercise, exercise, exercise, and then when you get out of the hospital exercise some more. Trust me when I say you won't have much time for the laptop between being strapped into the knee machine, physical therapy, trying to sleep at night so you won't be awake when the come by to give you drugs, pull blood, take blood pressure, and all those other good health and welfare inspections that occur during the hours of darkness. Good luck and you are in our prayers. Tim & Janis

We wish you the very best, Wayne. Carol had a knee replaced last November and is doing great now. Just remember to do all of your exercises and your recovery will be fine.

We'll be praying for you and for Earlene too. She'll need them. Do the therapy and you'll be just fine. Better than ever and ready to catch the rolls at Potato Patch this winter. See ya, then.

Wayne,
What is the matter you have to copy everyone else. (all-I have put up with Wayne's stuff sine 1980 so it is my time to dish it back.)

Good luck and hope the healing process goes well. Just remember to follow the Dr and Nurses advice.

Put a Stepper IF 3 element beam together and three antennas on a friends tower Sat and Sun. Lots of ham radio fun.

Best of luck.

One payback since 1980 John?

I'll let you get away with it this time.

Than you all.

Till I'm back on.

G'nite.

Waymen, My DW had hers done on the 18 of Aug. She is doing fine after a lot of early complaning. Gets her 1st month x-ray wed. We had a rough summer what with my double by-pass in July and her knee. We will keep you in our prayers. It sure helps.

Waynem,
Had my left knee totally replaced in '94 while bowling with the Senior PBA. Had to have the plastic replaced in '07 because I wore it out. Both jobs well done. Knee is better now than after the replacement in '94.

Just received this message from Earlene on Wayne:

Hi, folks,

I just got home from the hospital and am pleased to report that Wayne’s surgery was a success according to the doctor. Prior to the knee replacement, Wayne had something like 50 degree mobility and now has 130 degree mobility (from being only able to flex his knee back just a short distance, he could actually touch his heel to his buttocks now with the replacement). His knee was bone on bone with no cushioning – ouch. He will be in hospital until Friday afternoon, later if he develops a temperature. Then he’ll have the weekend to rest and start his physical therapy on Monday. Believe me, I will push, push, push him to stick with the program. You can get a better idea of the scope of this surgery by viewing a demo on line. I certainly am not qualified to describe it.

Thank you for your prayers and please continue them while he mends.

Sounds like a success. His next focus is to get out of the hospital. Then on to following Drs orders...
