Leaking Black tank sprayer

Today I hooked up the black tank sprayer. I did not hear the sprayer sound hitting the tank. After about a minute I see water dripping out the bottom of the slide. Guess it is leaking where the hose connects to the back of the coupling. Some inside carpet got wet. Also saw some water built up under the belly. I cut a small hole in the material enclosing the under carriage. Would you remove the cover under the camper and let things dry out? Don't know really what is in there.

If the leak is stopped, don't worry about drying it out, it will dry OK if you are in a dry climate.

Like Ozz says, let it dry.

However, you should concentrate on fixing the leak so that it does eventually dry. Without that the leaking will continue, the area will never dry, THEN the problems of rot, mildew, mold, odors, and eventual damage will result. Unfortunately, some part of the rig to locate the leak might still have to be taken apart (interior panels, underside cover). Since some of it's apart, this would hasten the drying process if left open after the repair. You might also find that some areas might need repair from the leaking.

Or the infamous check valve has failed. There have been many posts discussing this valve and the hunt for it's location in different models.

What is a check valve? I just figured you plug the hose into the wand end and it sprays water into the black tank.

here is what the conector looks like at the tank.

and what the kit look like.

another view.

I think it could be the anti syfin valve. but if it is working and no more leak........ "if it isnt broke dont mess with it" as the saying goes.

The check valve it to keep the black water from siphioning back into the water supply system. On my 2006 3000RK it is located under the lavratory sink. I would imagine yours is in the same location. Jim

I'm lost here. How could black water siphon back into the water supply system? When the system is being flushed, there's 45/50lbs. pressure in the line. When it's off, the hose is full of water to the spigot.

Without the anti-syphon valve several things would have to happen together to cause a problem, but the results could be very bad. Several folks have shown me setups they are using to flush with. Some have valves and pipes in their control centers and others are using the outdoor shower hose to flush with. I have even seen folks use their water hose to flush with. If the black tank is full to above the level of the flush nozzles black water will move back up the tubing to some degree. If while you are flushing, there is a sudden loss of water pressure (something in the park, or City water), without the anti-syphon valve black water could now be syphoned into your drinking water system. If you don't realize it and take some drastic measures, bad things will most likely happen. That's the reason that restaurants are required to have them on their mop sinks and outside hose connections. While it sounds like an unlikely occurrence I am aware of several times it happened and people got sick before the health departments started mandating the valves be installed. Several of us who have the valves and pipes or are using the outdoor shower hose have installed our own primary check valve before the water even enters the trailer just in case one of them decides to malfunction at exactly the wrong time.
