Folding Entrance Steps

It would appear that the steps are riveted to the steel plate holding them to the RV. One of the rivets seized and ended up being twisted off. It's been too cold and miserable here to check but I think the fix might be drilling out the rivet and using a nut and bolt with washers on both sides so that the step will still be able to move?? Maybe their is an easier fix??? Any Ideas, thanks.

Might try finding a steel rivet of the correct size and replace it. Home Depot and Lowes carry all different sizes of rivets and inexpensive rivet guns to fit them.

Bill: On our last coach (Golden Falcon) I had the same kind of problem. The nut, washer, bolt fix will work. Just be sure the nut is facing out so it doesn't catch when you are putting the steps up.
I just noticed the weather in McAllen on my home page. 77 deg. with 87% humidity. Now that's warm.

Thanks for the update on the weather in McAllen, just what I needed this morning with temps at -2C. Will try bolting the steps together till I can find a better way!!

Be sure to use a self locking nut.

Bill- Same thing happened to me. Bill had the right Idea and also Hazmic - A plain old bolt and washer with locking nut. Oh - I would go to a Harware store that offered WARM NUTS AND BOLTS because of your location. ha ha
