Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors

What system is recommended for tandem axle?
What are your thoughts on the sensors that screw onto the valve stem?

That's what I use. TST screw-on with flow-thru. Like Dick says, wouldn't travel without them.

I am a bit confused. I thought the flow through transmitters were inside the wheel/tire. The caps screw onto the valve stem

Yes they screw onto the valve stems. I am another happy user of TST

Both flow thru and non flow thru screw on the stems. Mine are non flow thru. But I only add 1-3 lbs of air to each tire in the spring before putting the sensors on and have never had to add any more air thru the whole season. And removal is not much different than removing a valve cap if you need to. Just have to use the little tool they provide. Or you can leave the anti theft caps off and remove them with your fingers.

Be aware TST (and probably others) require a metal valve stem. The added weight spinning around would eventually break the stems otherwise.

I am hearing more thumbs up for the non flow thru, simply because of bulk size of the flow thru. I will go with the non flow thru, not that big of deal , having to remove, its not like an everyday thing .

The TST rep Mike Benson specifically recommended the non flow through for a fifth wheel. I have had to add air twice in 18 months and its not hard.

I have the flow thru sensors on my TST but would get non flow thru if I had to do it again.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I ordered the TST 501 with non flow through caps.
Will be covered the next time we are in the road.
I trailer a 27’ 6000 lb boat as well. Will be using them on it as well.

I have the TST flow-thru sensors and love them but would go with the non-flow through next time. The flow thru seem to limit the amount of air I can get into the tire when needed, along with the extra size.

TST non flow thru type. Best investment and great company to deal with. Stand behind their product. Don't feel safe without them on trailer.

Brian and Tambra,

I have not had any issue using my Furrion Wireless Observation camera and my TST system at the same time.

X2 on tire pressure sensors. It is one of those "Don't leave home without them!" My Pressure Pro sensors and readout have served me well since 2007. I got a new receiver after some jerk broke into my truck and took it with him. Never leave anything in the truck now!

We have the TST with flow thru sensors for the trailer and cap sensors for the truck. The flow thru sensors must be used with metal valve stems. So far it's worked great.
