Going WAY south for this winter???

2009 Farmers Almanac is not very encouraging for this winter. Maybe an understatement. Don't like the word "catastrophic" in general weather prediction terms...

Tootle on down to the central Texas area, usually not too bad in the winter months. However, what do I know, I have only been around here for 70 or so years. The hill country generally has more winter.

Dose the Montana float? The Caribbean might be the answer. Just hope we are gone before the weather hits. Might be summer before we get back.

Mickey, maybe we could catch a ride on a returning banana boat...

Don't know if we made the right choice, but it sure is less miles than going back to the RGV or Arizona. Even though it cost more (RV Park in Florida) than than the RGV but we will use less Diesel.
GBY...

Well it did say "with only the Far West and Southeast in line for near-normal readings". Florida is about as far south as we can go and it surely is east.
And besides, after a hot hot summer I am ready for some cooler temps this winter.

We are down in Naples. Should hit there about the 25th of October. They have not had a freeze down there in almost 70 years, although in the 70's there was actually snow in the Everglades.

Maybe I should buy some long pants?

Avalon RV Resort, Clearwater, Florida. West central near Tampa.
$280.00 + electric per month but we do lease the site for a year at a time. This will be our 4th year at Avanon. Not 100% on this but I think, the regular monthly rate is around 490 to 500.

Avalon does NOT have their own website but here is something I made up for the regulars.. http://avalonrv.250free.com/

Ice house, you can have the cold. Dave,be our luck the boat would sink. Instead of packing for the camper,we need to pack our SCUBA gear for the winter. I sure hope they are wrong as they do not need the cold and snow and flooding in the spring.

We are staying in AZ, in Apache Junction. Cost around $481.84 month plus electric. No park models there. They like RVs.
Were going to stay at Sunrise RV resort but found they are not dog friendly. So changed to an RV resort.

The almanac — not to be confused with the New Hampshire-based Old Farmer's Almanac which is 26 years older — attributes its forecasts to reclusive prognosticator Caleb Weatherbee, who uses a secret formula based on sunspots, the position of the planets and the tidal action of the moon.

Just more FOX Noise NOT news!
