Emergency brake cable catches

I was wondering if there are any suggestions to keep the emergency brake cable from catching on the pins of the hitch assembly. I loop the cable through the handle of the hitch.

I have a Pullrite Superglide 16k. When I make a sharp turn, the excess cable sometimes gets caught and I come to a sudden stop!

Any suggestions? Thanks,
Ken

The cable on our 3000RK is plenty long to double. I always have a lock on my hitch release latch to keep anyone messing with it while we are on the road. I run the cable through the lock and double it back to an "I" bolt attached to the 5th wheel hitch. Never had a problem with it catching on anything. Did the same thing with our previous 5th wheel trailer (SOB).

Ken,

I believe Glenn had a fix using a suction cup hanger for a teecup and stuck it to the underneath by the pin. It won't interfere if the cable is needed, as the suction cup hook will just let go.

If it is too long why not cut it and crimp another loop at the correct length?

Slide a piece of small rubber (I used clear) hose over the cable. This will keep it in place and it can not get tangled.
