Ford warranty stuff
Well, I finally got some answers from Ford. They sell a diesel engine/drive train package for 200,000 miles and 10 years for $2100. It covers 21 major components. It does not buy you an additional 200,000 miles of warranty but extends the warranty on those components to 200,000 miles.
If you wait until the end of you initial warranty, then they will sell you a 5-year, 100,000 diesel ESP, but it covers less components.
If you want their Premium ESP, it will cover 100,000 miles up to 7 years (or 64,000 beyond your initial warranty). If you get the prepaid service part, you have to go to a dealer to price and/or purchase it.
It would be easy to spend as much on an ESP as what you used to pay for a whole car.
