Intermittent range hood light/fan

This one has me stumped, for the moment at least. The range hood in our 3295RK has a switch for a light and another for the fan. Most of the time the fan and light work fine. Other times, turning on the switch does nothing. Leave them turned on and eventually they'll come on. This might be in twenty seconds or twenty minutes. The switches seem to be wired in series, with one leg on one switch connected to a leg on the other switch. All connections are tight, on the switch. The wire screw connecting wires together up under the hood seems to be tight, also, although I've not yet pulled that wire nut to see if one wire is not connecting tightly. I've also not yet crawled under the slide to try to trace the wiring. Anyone else have this problem and solve it? Thanks.
