Hard Lesson

‘17 Ram short bed/305RL - paid for a B&W Compaion Manual Slider. It doesn’t help if you don’t slide it. Now need an $800 reslider. Two days later, hit a pinky with a battery chain saw - five stitches and $250 out of the pocket. Glad I save $40 on the site with Senior Passports

At least it sounds like you kept the pinky.

My shoulder hurt a bit after pulling the slider bar once. Made it easier to go with a long bed. 360 view camera makes the truck seem smaller when parking.

Or an auto-slide like a Pullrite.

Thats why I got the Pullrite Auto slider. I don't trust that I will remember to pull the handle.

Same here with the Pullrite. Why even worry about it.

Duck Tape to the rescue - Gorilla too expensive. It’s camping after all. Got an appointment Monday to install by Safelite

The long bed was not all that much more expensive.

Should have bought a long bed. Cheaper in the long run.

That's easy to fix, buy a house with a bigger garage.

My CCLB fits our garage just fine with about 4" clearance in front and back - but the house is ~50 years old and built in the days when Detroit 'land barges' ruled the road in the US. Unfortunately a dually wont fit width wise through the doors though.

The other easy fix is to build a bigger garage. My truck would fit depth wise in the house garage (G1) but it is to tall. It would hit the garage door opener arm. However it fits perfect in the RV garage (G2). The bay it sets in has a 9' door. The garage is also 48' deep.

Just put a screen over the hole where the rear window should be...which also helps remove certain odors in the cab.
