Mattress Fit

We ordered our new 3160 with a King Bed with the intention of buying a new Denver Mattress for the unit when we picked it up. Within the last two weeks, Denver Mattress started selling their RV Mattresses only through Lippert. I would guess you can also get them through RV Dealers, also. But, they've also increased the price. So, an RV King is 72"x80". A normal King is 76"x80" and is cheaper. Will a 76"x80" mattress fit?

Yes, it will hang off a couple inches on each side.

You beat me to it!

Good thing is the length doesn't change.

Makes making the bed up in the morning harder, within the slide area particularly with the side shelves under the windows. We ended up getting a Serta memory foam mattress topper, trimming off the extra inches with a razor knife.

I guess our fall back position will be a full King Size Denver Mattress. I had counted on buying a Denver Madison Eurotop like we had in our old unit. Had even priced them. Now, it looks like we'll have to figure out a plan B.

Ron-- Swap out your current mattress for the one that comes with the new unit! I'm sure Leach would do that for you if the mattress in the Big Sky is a king that is!

Rondo, that's the problem. The old unit was a Queen. We already gave that to Terrie's sister. We'll get it figured out. It just would have been easier if Denver Mattress hadn't given exclusive rights to Lippert. If 76" width will fit okay, I think that is a viable option.

Our '14 3150RL has the 72" wide king mattress. It is horrible. Went to Wmart and bought a king 4" mattress topper. It was 2" too wide.

After letting it expand for 2-3 days, marked it and used a electric knife and cut the side down to the correct width. We put it on top of the OEM mattress.

The foam is a double foam, 2" regular foam and 2" of memory foam. It sleeps better than anything in the house. About $150 @ Wmart.

A wider mattress would be a pain to try and make the bed up.

Thanks, Jim. I've got emails out to Lippert, Denver Mattress and our dealer. Ideally, we can find a Denver Mattress Madison Eurotop in King size. It just isn't on anyone's website.

Success. It looks like Denver Mattress no longer makes that mattress for RV's, even for Lippert. So, I complained to Denver Mattress and they were able to find one in Casper, Wyoming. After reading the posts, we decided that we needed to get the RV King so we had more room around the bed. Thanks again for the feedback.
