Fantastic Fan

I just want to give a shout out to the customer service I got at Fantastic Fan. We bought our 2010 Montana last year in March and right away I noticed the bathroom fan was making more noise than the kitchen fan. I pulled it apart and tried lubing the shaft, thinking that would quiet things down, but it didn't. So this year, after some prodding from my better half, I phoned Fantastic Vent and told them of my concerns. The wonderful woman there, Sharon, told me that for just the cost of shipping (12.95) they would send a new fan, bowtie, and motor assembly. I told her that I bought the camper used and that I had read somewhere the warranty was for 2 years, basically trying to convince her that I should be responsible for repairs (what's wrong with this picture?). She mentioned that the 2 year warranty had been extended to 7 years and all I had to pay was shipping. She asked what year the camper was and what model series the fan was. She wasn't interested at all in any proof of anything I was telling her. Amazing. Especially this day and age. Anyway, I got the assembly last week and put it in while camping last weekend, and it fixed the problem, as expected. But, what a great company and easy experience. I had heard they were good there, but never expected this kind of service. Outstanding.

They have always been great. Sold a few years ago and people were concerned service would change. It's reports like yours, that proved otherwise. I have three in my Montana and they run all year long. Great product, great service!

I've had great experience with them, LCI and a few other component makers. Shame we don't get the same support from the end product makers.

They have always had outstanding service. There was never any mention of warranty time before Camco bought them.

They have always been good, and guess they are still that way after changing ownership.

Glad to hear the change in ownership hasn't changed things. That was a concern.

How much did it cost to send the old unit back to them, or did they cover that too?

Thanks for the heads up on the warranty extension. I have a problem with the hatch not opening. When I called, they told me to try a couple of things, but no go. This must of have been before they extended the warranty period. I will call Tuesday and see if they can help me. This site is so valuable to all for ideas, information and updates. Thank again.

Had a problem with one on our previous Mountaineer. Contacted them and they sent the replacement parts and step-by-step, easy to follow instructions for the fix. What a great company. As mentioned in this thread, too bad not all are like this.

They didn't even want the old unit. I still have it. My suspicion is that the fan itself is warped, causing the noisy operation. That's what I was looking to replace when I called. But they told me they sold the motor, fan and bowtie as an assembled unit. So, now I have a spare variable speed DC motor.

They were great six years ago when they had a gasket issue. I haven't had a problem in our new unit. Beside good customer service, they have a good product.

We liked the one that came with our Montana, we bought another for the bedroom. Reports like these and our experience with the product keep us buying again and again. Keep up the good work Fantastic Fan!!

Our Mountaineer came with Maxx Fan which I believe is a different company. They have the rain sensor which I didn't want as weput vents on anyway. Previous Cougar had fantastic fan which was reversible and had temp sensor. Would have preferred these options over rain sensor. Max doesn't have these features

The Fantastic Fan 6000 series, which I have, has a rain sensor that can be shut off. It is not reversible, but I think the 7000 series is. The 6000 has a temp sensor and runs on auto based on temp.
