Slide out Question

Our 2005 2955 has two slide outs, but only one switch to operate. The bedroom slide goes out first, then the living room slide follows. Anyone ever put separate switches in the Monty to operate the slides individually? Both slides are on the same hydraulic pump & reservoir.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated!

We would find this beneficial when loading or unloading at home.

Thank you

You can do it, but it's kind of a hassle:

If you have the valve block over the pump with the individual valves (thumb knob screw in type) then you can replace those with solenoid valves and add another switch to split out the slides, along with some creative wiring to get the pump to run with either switch.

If you don't have the valve block, then you'll have to also get the additional hoses, fittings, and valve block to separate out the existing loop into two loops.

Brad covered it. If you want to do it you can contact Lippert. They have the hardware needed.
Good luck

Search the forum. Some one that is a hydraulics mechanic posted information on how to do it.

I haven't tried this, but we were told by our dealer that you could actually stand outside and hold pressure against the slide and the other slides would come out leaving the slide with resistance in. Our 3400 also has knobs/shut offs that allow us to keep slides from coming out or going in when turned off. Not sure if this helps, but might be a little cheaper if you are only wanting to isolate it ever so often.

Ours have a knob for each slide. They work as you said, but when camping with the grands we close the valves for safety sake. You never know when those little fingers will decide to push a button.
