Fridge only works on LP

Our fridge quit working this weekend. When on auto it flashes code e3. When on LP it works fine. It is a Dometic fridge in a 2016 Montana

If I remember correctly E3 refers to a cooling unit malfunction. On my 2005 rig with a dometic there was a temperature sensing unit that could shut off. Behind the frig above the burner there was a small reset button to reactivate. Don’t know if there is a reset capability in the newer units, but worth checking. Your cooling unit itself has not failed since running fine on LP.

Google Norcold magnet reset and see if that helps.

Take a look at this link. https://www.justanswer.com/rv-motorh...tor-model.html
It appears low 12V voltage may contribute to the failure.

Check your DC volts to make sure your battery is in good shape do what Carl said that is a real common problem.

went and checked little button. checked volts they were okay. I turned it back on this I evening getting code on both lp and ac. but it is cooling. the fans are running. this all started when I was messing with my generator to get the ac to come on. Both units were coming on and overloading the generator. I wonder if I caused a voltage spike and fried the controller.
