Our reason for staying home....

We are settling in at our stick house in Alabama after a sudden change in plans. The reason can be seen at this link: http://roadjunkies.blogspot.com/

We have just been given custody of our precious grandson, Daniel, so we are no longer nomads. We're at home, homeschooling, and enjoying this precious person more every day. We will travel in the future but it will be for shorter trips, closer to home. We have a new, divinely appointed journey that we're taking.

Judy and Glen,

We wish you all the best as you take on the responsibilty of rearing your grandson. There is nothing else like grandkids. I admire you for taking on the homeschooling. We homeschooled our children for a number of years (didn't hurt them at all - all have their BA or higher)and now our daughter is homeschooling our grandchildren. Enjoy your time with Daniel! May God bless you as you take your "devinely appointed journey". The scriptures tell us that the steps of a righteous person are ordered by the Lord. That's good enough for me!!

I'm so glad you made it home safely. I'll bet you're getting pretty good at Game Boy yourself Judy.

Give Daniel a big hug from us and be sure to keep some for yourself too. I am looking forward to meeting him. Tell him how happy that his (and all of ours) prayers were answered. Sorry it had to take so long though.

I sure wish Keystone had a handicap accessible bathroom for him.

How wonderful for you and for Daniel, too. The best is yet to be.
Grandchildren are truly our gifts. And to take this divinely appointed journey will be such a wonderful trip. Best of luck to you all in this new phase of your life.

We have an adult daughter who was born with Spina Bifida and is pretty much wheelchair bound now (she's 32) so we know what you are undertaking and we have so much admiration for you and Glenn.

Thank you, kind folks, for all your encouragement and kind words. We are having fun trying to keep up with fifth grade studies. They learn some heavy stuff nowadays. Where has childhood gone? Most of all we are enjoying being together.

Judy and Glenn,

I can't think of a better reason to stay home as you begin this God given adventure. He truly does work in mysterious ways and puts us just where we need to be. God Bless.

What a great adventure God has given you. Enjoy it. For He has said"trust not in our own understanding, In all your ways acknowledge Him and HE will (not maybe) direct your path". God bless you and Daniel!

Sallie and I also helped raise our grandchildren. We had two for a total of 16 years. We didn't home school because we worked at school. It is time spent that you won't regret.

We have met so many wonderful friends via this forum and you are all welcome to stop by for a visit at our house. We are so appreciative of the many good wishes and prayers on our behalf. We will miss our travels but we'll be very busy in our new roles as grand-PARENTS. What a challenge! We can't do it in our own power but we know we are directed by the Lord.
