This reminds me of the immense benefit of owning an RV during times like these. When we were evacuated last summer during some intense flooding we felt secure knowing that we at least had a roof over our heads and a bed to sleep in. Just remember that evacuation needs to be done early to dodge the pending traffic mess and extra Diesel cans can save the day.

Don- Maybe you can buy an inverter or whatever it is called that converts the 12 volt to 120. I have one for the TV if we want to run the laptop while traveling and it works well. Just start up the TV plug in the unit and run a small extension cord from the TV to inside the Monte and plug in the bed. Now wasn't that easy! Yah right! We did buy an airbed that came with a small compressor or blower unit. It was a 120 but did work on the large port on the end of the bed to blow it up! Yah-yah-- it was a 120 however. They do make the pumps that run off battery that you can buy at sporting goods stores that you can use on air mattresses out in the roughing it areas. That might help also! Check on them too! Glad to hear everything is going OK back in Paradise now and the fires are not as much of a concern-- at least at this time anyway! As previously mentioned in this thread from Wisconsin or Iowa-- we in eastern Nebraska can spare some of the rain we've been having also. I'm trying to send it your way but those stupid mountains keep getting in the way and stopping it from getting to you! That stupid jet stream also is holding it back here! Hang in there all will work out!

We will be purchasing a generator later this year for our first trip to QS next January so that will solve the air problem, but thanks for all the suggestions. That was the first time we had ever slept on the sofa bed although our grand-daughter used it once. We had DW's mother with us and and she had a lot of trouble getting up and down the steps, so we let her sleep in the bedroom so she could use the bathroom at night without help from us. Her arms look like a victim of elderly abuse, lots of bruises from from supporting her up and sown the steps.

We will gladly accept any rain you don't want, things are really dry for this time of year.
