Slides won't open

Ok kids, here's my problem. Got a 2018 3720RL with three slides. The bedroom is electric and the two rear slides are hydrolic. Had it for a year now and everything worked great. Just went out to open her up and the bedroom worked great but the two rear slides won't do anything. No sound, no nothing when I push the switch. I'm hooked up to shore power. Any ideas?

some suggestions from another site:
1. A hydraulic leak in one of the hydraulic lines or pump itself could be causing the hydraulic pump to run, but it does not have enough hydraulic fluid pressure to operate the slideout.

2. A bad hydraulic valve could again cause the hydraulic pump to run, but not enough fluid is getting to where it is suppose to, to move your slideout out.
3. A bad hydraulic pump. The noise you are hearing could be the pump trying to start up. Since you are hearing a noise when you press the slideout switch, I am not going to suggest that you check for a blown fuse.

It sounds like an electric problem with the hydraulic pump. Would call the Lippert service center for help troubleshooting.

The 40amp auto-reset breaker on the hot wire from the battery to the hydraulic pump may have gone bad. This is a weak point in the system and most people replace with a 80 amp.

Since you hear absolutely nothing, no noise of any kind, I would start by testing the switch itself.

Might be easier to test the voltage on the motor side of the 40/50 amp resettable breaker. BTW replacing the breaker was one of my first mods.

What I replaced was a 50 amp breaker.

Hydraulics

Does the rest of your hydraulics work? If your front legs and rear stablizers function normally, you need to look at your slide out switch and wiring.

Thanks all. Yes my auto jacks work fine. I've checked all the fuses I can find and they're good. Where are breakers located? We came back from Labor Day camping opened it up fine. Closed it and now nothing. Bedroom works fine, just the two rear slides. (different switch) Would the switch really just stop like that? Big question would be is this a warranty issue I could take to a dealer for fix?

I would pull the switch out, carefully, as most of the connections are just fast-on connectors and one could have fallen off. I had an awning that just stopped working and that was the problem. Just something quick and easy to check.

Have had rocker switches fail on me. Cheap and easy to replace. Re warranty question best bet talk to the dealer you want to take it to.

Had the same problem with my slides. Found a two 50 Amp breakers in series. Replaced with One 100 Amp breaker.Slides work better than ever. The Lippert motor is rated at 100 Amps. The current draw was reading 6.8 -7.4 causeing the slides to stop and the jacks to stop till the 50 amp breakers reset.

Appreciate the responses. So here's what we know so far...
1. When toggle switch for main slides pushed nothing. No sound, no motor, no click
2. All breakers and fuses in power panel ok.
3. Fuses I found in front compartment with pump looked ok to me.
4. Battery seems to be fine.
5. Checked toggle switch behind control panel, no loose wires I can see.
6. Hooked up to shore power as well.

Questions:
1. Is there only one hydraulic pump for jack legs and slides? One motor?
2. Is the wall toggle switch a pop out? Meaning can I just pop it out of the panels without unscrewing the whole thing?
3. How do I do a manual extension/retract? My rig is a Four Season with closed underbelly. Do I have to open it up to do manual operation?
4. How do I check the toggle switch to see if bad?

I really don't want to take it into dealership and tie it up for months for something simple I might be able to do. You folks have most likely fixed/replaced on your own with your experience. Thanks in advance for any help.

The breaker is on the + [hot] side of the battery leading to the pump.

Thanks. Found it. Looks ok. Was your slide NOT working or working slow/sometimes?

You can not tell if 50amp breaker to your pump is bad by simply looking at it. It is a self resetting breaker. Your pump for your level up is the same pump for your slides so if it works for level up then it is ok. Now for your slides I have had this problem only once and changed the 50 amp breaker with a 80 amp breaker found at Oriley’s. Easy way to check breaker is to put a volt meter on both sides of the breaker 12 volt in 12 volt out is a good break. Now to the switch. All the switches in my panel pop out but I took the panel out and checked allpush on connectors and found several loose connections. All fixed with a pair of wire pliers. If your pump works for level up it’s not the pump it a bad switch bad breaker or bad wire someplace in the front or panel. That where I would start. Hope this helps just a little.

Mine is older so yours may look different. But there should be an auto reset circuit breaker that supplies power to your hydraulic pump. Probably two breakers with one for the pump and another for other things. Picture shows mine under the red covers. And they look something like this when the cover is removed. https://www.delcity.net/store/12V-Au...98669.h_198846

There should be +12 vdc on both screws of all these breakers, battery side and load side. You can't tell by looking, will need to check them with a volt meter. I would make sure of that before tearing into the switch and wiring. If you do not have +12 vdc on the load side of the the breakers, you have a bad breaker(s). If you do not have +12 vdc to the battery side, you have a +12 vdc supply problem.

If you do have voltage on both sides of both breakers, then your problem is apparently in the switch circuit. Or in the reversing polarity contactor sitting on top of the pump. Or a bad pump motor. Or???

Another possibility is loss of the ground wire connection from the pump to the trailer frame.

Lots of things to check. Do the easier ones first.

Great pic’s Bill that may help them as we both say the same thing. My only other suggestion is if you can’t find the problem you should have a manual pump adapter mine was found in my pantry compartment. It looks like a hex key ( Allen wrench ) on at flex extension. With that and a electric drill you can place it into the back of the Hydraulic pump motor dead center on the motor mine has a small paper cover hiding the hole insert the hex key tell it seats and turn the drill motor my motor is marked for the direction to turn for bringing in my slides. If you don’t have this adapter get a set of Allen wrench sockets and a small extension find the one that fits and achieve the same thing. If my 5’er was close I would go out and see what size the hex key is and save you a step or two maybe someone else here know the size I just dory remember what it was.

Pump works. The jacks go up/down no problem.
