Refrigerator off ?
We have a Norcold RV Refer, and are plugged into 50 amp service at a campsite, and everything else is working in the RV, but the refer is not? The screen is blank. It comes on when you push the temp button, but the power and propane and electricity symbols will not light up, and the light is off inside. I checked the power supply behind the refer with a night lite, and it lit up? What to try next?

You did not indicate if the frig was cooling. If in a slide, check the wiring runs under the slide. Did you try propane, and did the burner kick in? 110 Circuit breaker for the frig? Need 12volt for the controls, 12V fuse for the frig? Certainly appears no power to the frig. Those are the first steps I would take.

I made sure there was power to the back of the fridge, because it is not on a slide, and there is battery power to the display, because the temp set would light up when pushed, and display what setting you wanted, and would go up or down, but the power symbols that show whether it is propane or electric were not displayed, no matter how many times you pushed the buttons. After an hour, all of a sudden they came back on? We are going to leave it on the auto setting, so if there is an electrical issue, maybe it will switch to propane next time? We could not manually change it, because the buttons were not doing anything. Weird, it is like the refer timed out? I do have 13.4 volts to my two deep cycle marine batteries. The fuse panel is not labeled on which fuse is for the refer, and I did not want to pull out all 18 to see if one had an issue? So now we will hang tight, and see if it happens again. We will just carry some extra ice till we get home.

KOLCB, It is working again now? Do you mean the fuse is partially blown? They are not labeled, so you are suggesting I pull all 18 out, and inspect each one? Confused by your answer?

Control board zapped by power surge?
or....
The electric side is powered by 115v for the refridgerant heater/expansion portion of the system, the 12v side only controls the reefers control panel. Check your circuit breakers in the 115v panel.

Overlord,
Thanks for the reply. I have one of those surge protectors, that is about 5" x 5" x 12", and cost over $500. It shows if there were any spikes, and there were none. I heard from a Norcold repair guy, that the little sub panel board on the back of the refer is there just for safety, so the refer does not over heat. He said there is a recall on some of them. I'm wondering if that little board just decided to turn the refer off for an hour? I will see if it does it again, and get that little miniboard replaced when we get home.

Your issue is caused by the main circuit board on the back of the fridge, under that black plastic cover. Basically the same problem when mine went bad. Fuses for 120vac and 12vdc are on that same circuit board...but the issue should be electronics on the board. Easy to replace.
