Electric fireplace smells like somethings burning

Has anyone had their fireplace smell like something was burning inside it? Mine worked fine for a year straight and now it won't hardly put out any heat and smells. Let me know what might be the problem.

If it smells like it is burning, IT IS.

When I fixed ours, I used wire nuts. Since then, no problems.

FOR SURE, pull your fireplace out, take the top off and you will see a terminal block (a plastic unit where the wires are connected). This will probably be charred! ours was to the point it must have been a minor fire. Call the MFG they will send a service rep to your spot and replace the terminal block. This is what we did ....Dave
