Mac,

That was the James M. Robb CO State Park in Fruita on the Colorado River. It was a nice park too considering its kinda in town.

That guy pulled out at the same time we did and we saw him again at Gunnison. Most of the parks trim down on hosts after Labor Day.

That is one BIG "honkin'" Ford. Not a Super Duty, a Special Duty. Does it come in a King Ranch package? Love it. Bob

Brad,
That's a good looking rig, with the matching graphics too. Fruita is a nice state park, the spaces are large & lots of space between units. The drive to Gateway from Fruita is really nice. The owner of the Discovery Channel has built an awsome car museum there. Plus the cafe has a great pulled pork sandwich in Gateway. Next time you come this way give me a shout, if you have time.

Jerry -
It was a great park - sorry we couldn't connect. My Dad had the plans laid out before we even set the landing gear. In fact he was already there while I was setting the landing gear! . He wasn't going to miss a moment of time with his great grandson!

Dave-
I believe the graphics were just the factory vinyl type, but I didn't get too close!

Brad,

We recently stayed in that park too. The spaces are real nice, the ponds and the Colorado river there are nice for viewing lots of birds, and fishing for the kids is pretty good too.

The only thing we disliked was the price. After paying ~$25 for the space rent, and then the $6 for the state park entrance fee on a daily basis, that seemed a bit steep considering the daily fee was not part of the camping fee.

Hope you enjoyed the Colorado National Monument. There are so many wonderful hikes there, especially if you have a shuttle. Someone can take you to the top and then be able to walk mostly downhill to the lower levels.

I know the camp hosts really worked hard there. Hard to imagine someone who has that kind of money able to work as a 'freebie' there.

There is also another great state park managed by the same group up in the DeBeque canyon on the way to Rifle. It sits right on the Colorado River.

I didn't know it was that expensive for out of staters. CO folks get a annual pass that's not too expensive, it pays for the daily fee and drops the camping fee in half also. I hope you two got to see Canyon Lands & Arches National Parks also. You are right about the CO Nat. Monument, it's a wonderful place to visit. Since we live next door to the Monument we go there often. It looks so different depending on the time of day and time of year. Seeing the big horn sheep there is a big plus to.

Nice looking rig!

Did you ask them if they were familiar with the Montana Owners Club?
