Refrigerater Recall?

I read that Dometic has a refrigerater recall in the Woodall's Trailer Life. It dealt with several models and serial numbers. My refrigerater was one on the list. It has worked perfectly since '03 purchase and I'm hesitant to have it messed with! Are there any other members who have this recall? It deals with models made prior to May 2003...Models RM2653,2662,2663,2852,2862,3662,3663,3862, and RM3863.

Yes, I have had the recall service to mine. There is not much to it. They do not mess with the inside. They put some new parts through the outside access to correct the threat. The main thing they do is put extra shielding around the propane fire box to prevent a flash situation catching your rig on fire. I would not hesitate to do it again. It just makes your rig safer, a good thing.

I had ours done at Camping World. As Stiles stated - not much to it. I had an appointment when the service dapartment opened and they even let me browse the store before opening while I waited. They even had coffee and doughnuts at the adjoining dealership. I was in and out in about an hour or so.

We had ours done and think it was an easy fix for a potential hazard.

I was in and out within an hour. Mine stills works and it is one of the older ones.

I wouldn't wait too long. Usually recalls have time constraints. In other words they probably won't provide the free service forever.

Mine is done as well. Recall does the following to contain a failure of the NH3 gas at the electrical element;
1) Additional metal panels installed to "box" the area where the failure could occur.
2) Gas solenoid wire from control panel is removed.
3) Wire with burn-out link is connected to control panel pin.
4) Wire from this link through a "snap" switch mounted on chimney (auto resets under trip point) and finally reconnects to solenoid.
>>Fix installed...see below.
