Wheel Alignment

After having spent about $1200 for new wheels and new Michelin tires I'm concerned about proper wear. Do those of you who have purchased new tires rotate your tires? Also, can you have your trailer checked for alignment for proper wear? I have heard of some people having axles out of alignment and causing excessive tire wear.Where to take a 5th wheel for this type of work?

Hi Bigred715,
A good wheel alignment company would be my first look at, I have used BEAR alignment co for years the problem is finding one that does large veicles like ours, try calling a trucking company they have to have there vehicles worked on every now and then.

I've had my 2003 aligned in Denver, and our 2007 aligned in northern New Mexico under warranty. Both places were over the road truck repair places. Cost for the first one was $300.

If you didn't have any wear on the previous tires, I wouldn't worry about it until you start to see wear on the new ones.

I've never rotated the tires on our rig and I've had good wear. However, I do have the alignment checked every two years.

I had mine aligned in a frame shop in Albuquerque, NM and that was in 2003 and been good since.
I do not rotate the tires since I replace them after five years and they are still like new.
