Height of your Trailer with 2nd A/C

I finally measured my unit from the second A/C (front) to the concrete pad, and it's standing at 12'9" while set up (leveled). I plan on measuring it again when it's hooked up to the truck. The brochure indicates the height is 12'9" with the standard (rear A/C), which is strange because it seems like it would be higher since the 2nd A/C is closer to the front. But it's only 12'9" at the highest point. I would think it would be close to that when I'm hooked up because it's always leveled when I'm hooked up. I guess I will find out. I measured it 3 times to make sure. Still doesn't seem right. So for those who have a 2nd A/C what is your height?

I'm 13' 3" with the Briskair front AC (full size AC).

I measured mine right off the Dealer lot, and while backing in storage measuring from the overhead 13' 8" clearance down to the AC. Both times I was hooked up to the truck. Since that time, we have added a lot of stuff to the nose (generator, W/D, airborne pin, etc) which most likely brought that down an inch, maybe two. I probably will re-measure, but for now it's 13' 3" in my mind when I look up to bridge and tunnel markings.

My highest point is 13'3" which is the top of my FF Maxxair vent cover in the kitchen. I have the low profile Dometic duo-therm a/c in the bedroom.

It looks like the 2nd A/C is not adding much height to my unit as I thought it would, so I'll go back up there and see if the MaxAir cover is the highest point. which is in the bathroom. It just didn't look like the MaxAir was higher when I was up there. Of course I can't go measure it until I find somebody to hold the tape measure to the ground. Impossible to do by yourself ;-(

Were 13'4" with the satellite dome and no 2nd A/C. We did add a Shur fan simular to the fantastic fan in the front vent along with a max air cover. I Printed out that www.aitaoverview.com lists of bridge heights. That I will carry with me as I plan unknown routes. I have already had to change a route back west to Kansas from Branson Mo.

I have measured mine twice and it was 12'7". With quite a few of you just over 13' I am concerned and plan on measuring again. When I measured I hooked up drove the rig around the block and measured it in the center of the road, both sides gave me 12'7". I don't know how much the TV influences the overall hight but I know my truck settles a bit when I lower front legs.

For peace of mind I am going to measure again next time I hook up.

We just measured our rig, at the highest point, which is the front A/C and it is 13' 1" and when we were on the road in Dallas TX. we seen some overpasses marked 13' on the low side and 14' on the high side. Needless to say, we moved to the fast lane.

Be careful in Denver! I just found out by Bert's link that I-25 south of I-70 is closed to vehicles over 13'.

How far south does that closure go? I can't access the above link at the moment but am curious how one would go to Colorado Springs if the closure goes that far? Or should we just forget the Springs (and points south) if we have the second AC on the 3400?

Bill,

As you travel south - they want you to re-route via I-70 East to I-225 South and follow it around until it connects back onto I-25. The closure is only through the heart of Denver because of the highways widened under the old bridges. The outer lanes slip into the 13' clearance range.

You can get straight through, as I have done it many times without paying any attention . It wasn't until the other day I actually looked up and noticed the 13'-0" clearance warning. I was just real lucky I was in the center lanes! Thanks to some discussion on the MOC and some friendly reference links - I am now VERY aware.

After visiting the aita site we measured our 3000Rk. I was concerned because we added 3 Maxx air vents each of which were 11" tall not to mention two straddling the highest point. We came in at 13' even. I concluded that the 12' 9" listed in the book was with the front A/C. Just MHO.

I just tried the link - it says "under construction - please bear with us" - "you're on your own, duck!".

Well maybe not the last part.
