One thought is the strap that holds the chair in place might also go around the base of it to prevent shifting.
I like the idea.

I store it in the basement with the receiver head hooked behind the black water pipe.

IF I were to have a trailer hitch on the Montana!
And if I had a 12" extention mounted into the hitch on the Montana!!
And if I had a hitch on the Montana and a 12" extension mounted in it I would just weld a 2" steel pipe to the outer part of the extention that is about 1' long.
And if I did that I would drill the pipe and weld on (4) 3/8" nuts and put bolts in them to tighten down a pipe that I may have a Dish 500 mounted to.
But I guess I would of voided my warrenty if I mounted a hitch to my Montana.
But what the heck, my black tank had a major leak, it was over a year old and after a lot of phone calls and taking it to a dealer that I did not buy it from they gave me a new tank and I have to pay for it to be installed.
So after all that.
I carry my Dish 500 on a post that is inserted into 2" pipe that is welded to the extension on the hitch I installed on our Montana.
Works great

Sven,
You wouldn't have a picture of that would you? Sounds like a great storage idea.
