Ever Replaced a Residential Refrigerator?

We have a 2018 3721 RL Montana with a Samsung Residential Fridge that is defective and is going to be replaced under warranty in November. Catch is of course..how do you get it out and the new one in?

Dealer isn’t real sure either, but looks like they are planning on removing one of my large windows by my kitchen table and getting it out that way. Other option is to take off the slideout containing the fridge which doesn’t make me too comfortable.

Has anyone on here been through this before?

Take the doors off the refrigerator. Goes in and out of the entry door no problem

That’s awesome! Do you happen to know the door opening size dimensions? Looking up the fridge specs it looks as though the depth is 24 1/4” without doors and hinges. Is the door that wide or will it require taking frame off as well?

My blood pressure has gone down thanks to your post! Once again CW extended warranty salesman misinformed me with the scare tactic of “what if” the fridge goes out, and said it would require taking off the entire slide to get it out. I’m glad I didn’t buy it!

The residential fridges in rv's are counter depth types. Remove the doors and out it goes. Try to get a different brand as the Samsung's are problematic.

It will go right out the door without touching anything on the trailer door or frame. Mine is 28" also. Put it in myself so I know it can be done. Take the whole freezer bottom bay out as a unit, it just lifts up and out.

Make sure to protect the floor when pulling the refer out. I put down some Luann to do it.

But will it come out the entry door if you remove the fridge doors and be able to get around the center island in a 3791RD model.

Samsung fridge

Well known Co drivers in 2009 took the doors off our Samgsung and went though the door in our 344J for install no problem. And no problems with the fridge todate.

Some of the fridges that you have in you house have to have the doors removed to get it in.

We have the same fridge in our unit and the other day I asked our dealer how would they would replace our fridge if to failed...He told me the same way it went in. He said the fridge was in the slide before the slide was installed and whenever they have to replace a fridge they remove the slide, replace it and reinstall the slide.

Sound fishy to me. A counter depth fridge is maybe 26-28 inches deep without the doors. Most big camper doors are 30 inch with a clear opening around 28

We had one fail on our first trip. Samsung refunded the purchase price which was enough to buy a new one. I looked for another brand but because of size and mounting differences we purchased another Samsung from Lowes. Lowes delivered it and I helped them install it. We removed the doors and it went through the RV door. If I had a way to remove the slide I would much prefer to do that. Maneuvering the fridge into place can damage the floor if you are not extremely careful. Dealer techs are usually not that careful.

This is what I have discovered on the issue and why I believe it will go out the door. Specs direct from Samsung site and label on my fridge door.

The DEALER isn't sure??? Judging by your zip code, I can tell you I bought my unit at that dealer, have taken it back for a warranty repair, and wont be back. Absolutely zero pride in craftsmanship. I understand we dont have many choices when it comes to warranty repair. There is another place just a couple miles to the west of this dealer, on the south side of the interstate, located on the frontage road...I have no personal experience with this place, but I have heard of some good reports regarding their service dept....It wouldn't hurt to check them out and to see if they can do warranty repairs. I do all my own repairs, but if I ever need to pay someone to work on my camper, it will not be the dealer I purchased this one from.

If the dealer doesn't know what to do to get it out, have them pay for a local appliance dealer to come with there 2 wheel dolly and remove the refer and put the new one in. They do this for a living.

The dealer is the LAST one you should ask anything about your trailer.

Camping World of Mid Missouri is the culprit...er dealer where I purchased it.

I am taking it to a small dealer who I know who has agreed to help me with the warranty work. He doesn’t sell Montanas, but is a Keystone Dealer. I am just thankful he is willing to help me out despite the fact I didn’t buy from him. Above and beyond. He is also a fairly new dealer and has never had to replace a Residential Fridge. I’m just glad the bafoon ( Extended Warranty Saleman) at CW was wrong and dare I say dishonest?

Also appreciative of the Keystone Montana folks on here.
