CHIPPED FRONT OF MONTY
Did a dumb thing. Backing up & monty was too low & I backed into it chipping the edge with the channel of the bed cover.
Has anyone chipped their unit & what repair procedure is there. Do they have a repair kit or is there some type of material I can use to repair.
I am so mad at myself for such a stupid mistake. Ruin a perfectly great unit. I hope someone can help me.

Dumb things are something we are all capable of but it sure does get the blood pressure up when it happens. A simple fiberglass repair should fix it up like nothing ever happened. Good luck, this one can be fixed!

Sorry for the oops,
If the fiberglass structure isn't shattered, and it's simply a gouge in the gel coat you can use light body filler but you need to make sure all the loose bits are removed.

Don't feel bad. Returning from our initial trip in 06 I put a limb right thru the side of our Monty. I mean the tree limb was in the bedroom. A $5700 bid from the dealer forced me to learn fiberglass repair. $90 later and less than 4 hours of work most can't see it unless I point it out. The internet and how to videos are a great teacher. Mark A has it right for a small gash.

If you don't want to fix it yourself, or for what you need to fix it yourself, check with a marine repair facility.

I used a shower fiber glass repair kit from the box store. I had a rock chip about the size of quarter. Worked well hardly noticeable unless I get close and point it out.
