New Entertainment System
I blew one of our speakers on the surround sound system awhile ago and had already put in a Panasonic Home Theater in a box which is now in the basement of the house. I inquired as to the price for new speakers from Montana. They want $40+ per speaker so I asked on the web site about replacement speakers and also Emailed Phil (exav8tr) about his system. Mike (zman08) suggested that I look at Bose speakers on Ebay as they have 3” speakers and I was lucky and found a speaker system to buy.
My new system now is:
Acoustimass 600 5.1 surround sound speakers
Pioneer 5.1 Channel HDMI Receiver (VSX-519V-K)
Pioneer 1080p Upconverting DVD Player (DV-420V-K)
I would like to thank Mike and Phil for their help. The system sounds great and probably would blow the windows out of the Montana. It is a good thing we are a fairly quite group so the neighbors don’t have to worry.
Thanks again guys
Don

Hookman,
Do you have a HD satellite receiver connected to your system? If you do is it Dish or DTV? JB

We too have a blown speaker. I haven`t found any to replace ours. All the speakers togther are not worth $40. Keystone sent us a whole new surround sound system but the speakers are large like house size so we haven`t changed any yet.. Glad you found a remedy.

My hearing is so bad I took some zip cord and wired a couple of '49 Studebaker speakers to the sides of the headrest on my chair.

Don, Glad to have helped. We really like our system, in Fact, we bought the Acoustimass 5.1 also and put the three speaker in the cabinet, put two over the REAR window ad hooked up the two over the main slide and now have 7.1, at least that's what our receiver says...Hope you enjoy it like we do......

Countryfolks,
Studebaker speakers?!?! You have Studebaker speakers?
Those are worth a fortune now. Sell 'em on eBay and buy some cheap-o Bose speakers.
